Saltburn-by-the-Sea
This is a quiet coastal town, built as a retreat spa in the Victorian times. The coast is protected by National Trust and there are lovely walks around the town, beach and coastal paths. There are some very steep hills leading to the beach and pier, so don’t forget: if you go down, you will need to come back up again! Fortunately there is also a cliff lift that you can use, although it did close well before dark. History – If you like the Victorian age, Saltburn is your kind
